Puella Magi Madoka Magica won 2011 Media Art Festival Award
Updated: Looks like I mis-translated something, very sorry. Madoka won the Grand Prize.
Akiyuki Shinbo’s Puella Magi Madoka Magica is nominated awarded the 2011 animation of the year for the 2011 Media Art Festival Award. This is decided today on the 15th of December.
The award ceremony will be held on the 21st of February 2012.

According to the film journalist, Hiroshi Otaka in his tweet,
K-On!! The Movie earned 316,310,000 yen (US$4,058,254) at 137 screens from the 3rd and 4th of December, the first weekend of the movie’s screening, an average of US$29,622 per screen.

Tokyo Gov removes Doraemon Train…
The Tokyo Government recently got anal strict on Odakyu Electric Railway, forcing them to remove the Doraemon Itasha train that recently just got commissioned in August.
Why? Because it’s found to be in violation of the outdoor advertising act, banning any large advertisement without a permit, since it’s technically promoting a Doraemon Museum.
The railway company readily admit the mistake, saying “We hadn’t charged any advertising fee to paint the train, and so didn’t think of it as advertising.”
And will be removing the train from service and replacing it will a generic one.
Bye bye train… …
