The film will be in theaters all over Japan this summer. And for some reason, I feel that the theme is more important now… Than when It was first announced. Either way, I’m very looking forward to watching this movie soon!

Mamoru Hosoda’s new Film, Okami kodomo no Ame to Yuki

The 50 second trailer for Mamoru Hosoda’s “Okami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki” is released on Saturday on Nico Nico Douga.

Mamoru Hosoda, the director of “Summer Wars” and “The girl that leapt through time” will be releasing a new animated feature titled “Okami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki” (Wolf Children, Rain and Snow).

This time director Mamoru will also be co writing the script of the film and will be distributed by TOHO films.

“Okami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki” is about the human girl, Hana, whom fell in love with a wolf guy and eventually marrying him, giving birth 2 child, one during a rainy day, thus the name Ame and the other during a snowy day, thus Yuki.

The family of 4 lived quietly in the city till when the father suddenly died and Hana decide to move to a rural town, far away from the city.

The film is made by the studio setup by Mamoru Hoseda for the film, while MADHOUSE is also credited.

“Okami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki” is expected to be released in Japan, July 2012.

No plans for international release is mentioned.

Liar Game: Reborn first trailer up and small details, and a new game?

After two seasons of Liar Game and the theatrical movie Liar Game: The Final Stage, Liar Game is back with a sequel which will hit Japanese theaters March this year. This movie is titled, Liar Game: Reborn, is a whole new story after the events from Liar Game: The Final Stage. The movie was announced back a month or two ago, with a teaser trailer for the movie being show on the official website of the film. Then, not too long ago, the first trailer had been put up on the official website.

The teaser trailer just shows us not much information about the story, but some familiar faces and new faces too. During this time where the teaser trailer was up, the cast details also went to place, which two familiar faces we are going to see in this movie would be the protagonist, Akiyama Shinichi (potrayed by Matsuda Shota) and Fukunaga Yuji (potrayed by Suzuki Kosuke) whom is now a member of the ‘Liar Game Office’. And we also get to see many new faces, plus a surprise which would actually break the hearts of all the fan of the character , Kanzaki Nao (potrayed by Toda Erika). Character and cast information was also placed up when the teaser trailer had been put up.

So, then you may ask, why two and not three familiar faces? or what happened to the heroine, Kanzaki Nao? We would already know and expected that Kanzaki Nao did not want to be in the Liar Game Tournament after she “ended” the game in the Garden of Eden with Akiyama Shinichi in the previous movie, Liar Game: The Final Stage. This movie is supposed to be after the events of “ The Final Stage” and its a whole new story in which a new heroine, Shinomiya Yu (potrayed by Mikako Tabe) will come in.

The dealer’s identity is erm, still a mystery as always, so I have not much to say about the dealers ever since I watched the first season. A new character I would want to point out is Alice. Alice is a new character and she will be in the 4 people in the ‘Liar Game Office’ along with Fukunaga and including the dealer. It looks like Alice is the mastermind behind this Liar Game Tournament in the Liar Game Office. Child actress Ashida Mana would be acting in this movie as Alice. (For the truth, her giggle at the end of the first trailer does give me the chills after hearing it…)

After the teaser trailer was released, the first trailer of Liar Game: Reborn was placed up on the official website, replacing the teaser on the site. The first trailer shows a little bit more on the story, which they teased one game from the tournament called Musical Chairs. More news was also added on the news page of the site, which the last updated was back last month in December.

Yasukata Nakata from the duo, capsule, will be back to do the music for this upcoming movie. He was involved for producing the awesome background music for Liar Game: The Final Stage, Liar Game and Liar Game Season Two and the Liar Game Theme.

It was announced during the announcement of the teaser trailer that the movie would be released on the 3rd of March this year in Japanese theaters. I’m just hoping that the movie would be coming over to Singapore like that time when they were showing Liar Game: The Final Stage.

Good News? Hollywood ver. of AKIRA might be cancelled!

According to reports, the Hollywood version of the animated feature AKIRA has stopped it’s pre-production, with it’s production office in Vancouver closed.

The director, Jaume Collet-Serra, that replaced Albert Hughes and the films producer will meet in the next weeks to decide whether to continue producing the film.

Reports have it that the budget have already been halved to 90 million dollars and it might face a further cut in budget with a revised script or screenplay if it continues.

Either way, it seem even if it’s going to be made, the film stands a higher chance of becoming worst then it already is… Will it inherit the worst anime Movie title from dragonball?

A trailer is posted online, this is the 2nd one if I’m not mistaken. And I have a feeling the movie despite having Mariko as the Guest might be quite fail… … Oh the acting…

The movie is scheduled to premier in Japanese cinema on the 17th of March 2012.

The general plot of the movie is about Michelle trying to go in-between Haruhi and Tamaki, just when they are moving towards their next step in their relationship. In the manga itself, there is no mention of a character named Michelle, thus this story can be considered an original addition.

Evangelion Site Refresh, Teases FINAL

On the first of January 2012, the Evangelion site is refreshed and now the site announced the FINAL movie in the series. And they even put a year on it @_@!!!

It’s currently named,

I’m not sure if “?” is the title, given that it’s them… or it’s just a place holder for a better title… Eitherway for now, lets just call it “Evangelion: ?” or FINAL. And its currently for a 2013 release.

The next movie in the series is “EVANGELION: 3.0 YOU CAN (NOT) REDO” previously known as Q, planned or a 2012 Autumn release, like FINALLY!

K-On!! Movie, a run away success!!

According to the film journalist, Hiroshi Otaka in his tweet,

K-On!! The Movie earned 316,310,000 yen (US$4,058,254) at 137 screens from the 3^rd and 4^th of December, the first weekend of the movie’s screening, an average of US$29,622 per screen.

Comparatively, Hollywood’s Tin Tin which opened on the 1^st of December at 895 screens and earning 319,290,000 yen with an average of just US$4580 in the 4 days.K-On!! is a runaway success!!

Congrats!

Now will the Movie’s OST sell like hot cakes too? It will be released on the 21st of December 2011.

Madoka Movie is really a Trilogy! 3 Movies!

The recently leaked Madoka Magica movie project is not just a Movie, But 3 Movies~

So it’s not a troll, the movie is really coming, and can I say, it’s better than trolling. Shaft is going to be release a movie trilogy!! Yes! 3 movies!

Revealed within the Dec issue of Newtype, leaked by flying getters, the first 2 will be used to recap the original anime series, where the 3^rd will feature a new original story, presumingly a new ending. Wait does that mean Madoka might not become a god? …　あっ!　まいーか～

So do look forward to this trilogy in the next 3 to 5 years~

Akiba Massacre inspires Movie “River”

8th June 2008, an evil and devastating act was committed, killing 7 innocent bypasser and injuring 10 others, shocking the world. A movie is now in the making, inspired by the event, named River.

3 years on the culprit is now sentenced to death for being fully responsible for the act in a judgement by the Tokyo District Court on the 24th of March 2011.

Then just 2 days ago, it’s reported that a movie, inspired by the Akihabara Massacre, Directed, planned and written by the Award wining film maker, Ryuichi Hiroki famous for Bride with 1 month to live or April Bride.

The film, River, will not be about the actual day’s event but a tribute to the victims,and surviving kins. It features the girlfriend of a victim and how she overcome the loss of her Otaku boyfriend, wandering the streets of Akihabara retracing the steps of her love one on the faithful day.

River will be about how the heroine eventually healed her injured heart while still playing a tribute her love one. Misako Renbutsu has been cast with the role leading role.

Film Maker Ryuichi Hiroki said “Even though it was a shocking incident, with the passage of time fewer people are talking about it. I wanted to make sure it is remembered by making it into a movie.” insisting that the film is also about the pain of losing a loved one, much like April Bride.

The film is scheduled to be out in March 2012.

SG: Ashita No Joe, Live Action Movie opens 20th Oct

Tomorrow’s Joe, more popularly known as Ashita no Joe, a Boxing Manga by Tetsuya Chiba, will be having it’s live action movie open in Singapore on the 20th of October at GV theaters.

The film will be featuring actor Tomohisa Yamashita as Yabuki Joe, the title character and Yusuke Iseya as Rikishi, Joe’s Rival.

The film itself only opens in Japan, February 2011, so it’s amazing that it took less then a year to reach Singapore Shore.

Also to be opening this month is “From me to you” live action movie, based on the popular shojo manga “Kimi Ni no Todoke”. It opens on the 6th of October, this week.
