Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiyah Blu-Ray Announced(Updated)

Posted by tueac On August - 26 - 2010

Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiyah Blu-ray and DVD will be on sale this coming December in Japan, and along with it comes a Limited Edition version Blu-ray that comes with plenty of goodies, these premiums will be demanding either a Hand or a Leg…

The limited editions are priced at a cool 10,500 yen for the Blu-ray and 7980 yen for the dvd… So if you have the money, do yourself proud…

But fear not! Amazon is offering 26% and 20% discount respectively, making it barely affordable… Visit the site to read for yourself the contents…

This would also mean that we are 1 step closer to the English Blu-ray release… For right now, no one knows if the Japanese version includes any English sub or dub…

Source: Temple-Knights

Update: It would be dumb of me if I haven’t expected it… But according to CDJapan’s product data, there will not be an English dub or sub in both the Blu-ray and DVD.

And CDJapan is now taking pre-orders for the Regular edition DVD, Blu-Ray and the Limited Edition DVD and Blu-ray, if you are still interested. For me, it looks like I’ll be giving this a miss and look forward to the Bandai USA’s release…

My Darling is a Foreigner!

Posted by tueac On August - 23 - 2010

And I sure hope she’s Japanese… Ah the dreams…

Nope, not talking about myself, but the Japanese Movie, “My Darling is a Foreigner!”. I have received news that the movie will be in Singapore’s cinemas starting Sept 16.

The movie is about a Mangaka finding her love of the life-time in a foreigner from the United States and how they work towards their relationship, even when the girl’s parents are against the relationship.

Of course, that will not be the only obstacle facing them. In a movie derived from the  popular manga of the same title by Saori Oguri(the same mangaka mention above), based on her real story with her husband Tony.

Acting as the mangaka(Saori) will be Mao Inoue(Hana Yori Dango as Makino). For Saori’s husband(Tony), it will be by Jonathan Ser, a comedian based in Japan.

The movie will open in Cinemas on September 16 at GV cinemas and selected Cathy Cinplexs.

It’s my pleasure to inform everyone that, Space Battleship Yamato, the movie will be due to arrive in Singapore’s movie theaters in the year 2011. The film will be distributed by ENCORE films, thou it’s currently unknown which month it will be arriving in.

It should come to no surprise since, the Japanese opening date for the movie is December 1st, 2010, and it’s being hailed as the biggest Japanese Sci-fi flick of the year.

Space Battleship Yamato is the live-action remake of the Classic anime from 1970s of the same name. The movie will be featuring actors, Kimura Takuya(Susumu), Mesia Kuroki(Yuki Mori), Tsutomu Yamazaki(Captain Okita) and Ueto Aya(Sarsha, Starsha’s Sister).

Kimura Takuya as Susumu(Left) and Mesia Kuroki as Yuki Mori(Right)

Other then being live-action, the biggest change will be that Dr. Sado is a female, and Yuki Mori, taking on a more pro-active role instead of her traditional support role in the anime.

Space Battleship Yamato is also known as Star Blazers in the majority of the western countries.

You can read up more in a previous post.

In another News, Gantz which is coming in 2011 will also be distributed by Encore Films.

FMA Movie given the Go Ahead.

Posted by tueac On July - 5 - 2010

Full Metal Alchemist the manga and anime have ended just recently and now the movie is in the making.

Other then the information that the Director of the anime is not involved, no other info are mentioned… So could it be a new story, before or after the the manga and anime, or the could it be a 4 part compressed version of the anime… ala the gundam movies…

Either way i sure hope it will be good!
