AKB48: 24th Single Jankan Tournament Result and Review

→“>And so the AKB48 24th Single Jankan Tournament is concluded with a historic first. Maeda Atsuko is not in Senbatsu for the first time.

A slight disappointment but given how often a single is released recently, it’s not going to be a long wait till her next appearance in one. So no harm done T-T but still she lost… …

However~  Mariko-sama WON!!!

Live-Action Hayate Promo Streamed

Formosa TV’s official channel on the YouTube website began streaming a 21-second promotional video for its live-action series adaptation of Kenjirou Hata’s Hayate the Combat Butler manga. The television series will premiere on June 19 at 9:40 p.m.

The story follows a boy named Hayate who serves as a butler, bodyguard, confidante, and more to a girl named Nagi to pay off a huge debt. In the re-imagined live-action version, 20-year-old Korean actress Shin-Hye Park will play Nagi, while 28-year-old George Hu will play Hayate himself.

Waw, as Hayate Series’ fan I found this live action is kinda weird. But we shouldn’t say anything until the premiere. Hope it’s as good as the manga :)

Another video about Hayate was chasing the kidnapper with bicycle from episode 1!!!

I would like to see them try… LOL.

The live drama is going to be epic if it can actually be successful. According to Anime News Network, a Taiwan Television Station will be adapting the Romance Comedy manga Hayate no Gotoku by Kenjiro Hata into a Life Action drama, staring the Korean actress, age 20, Pak Shin-Hye as Nagi and Taiwanese Actor, 28 ,George Hu as Hayate.

Pak Shin Hye as Nagi

George Hu as Hayate

Both are understandedly good looking, but they might be a bit out of the age range… If the director wants to follow the script loyally, which they will not. After all, the Taiwan stations are known to loosely base their production on the actual manga.

For example previous Manga inspired dramas like Meteorite Garden based on Hana Yori Dango and Itazaru na Kiss. While Skip Beat! the Taiwanese Live Drama named Extravagant Challenge is still in limbo about it’s production process…

Btw it now features the boys from Super Junior as Ren and Sho… Not sure about their acting thou…

I’ll be eagerly awaiting the product… lol

Voice Newtype: Top 10 Seiyu

The ranking:

    1. Aki Toyosaki (Yui – K-ON!)
    2. Nana Mizuki (Lan Fan – FMA)
    3. Yukari Tamura (Talim – Soul Calibur)
    4. Aya Hirano (AYA STYLE)
    5. Miyuki Sawashiro (Momohime – Muramasa)
    6. Yui Horie (Tsubasa – Bakemonogatari)
    7. Minori Chihara (Chiaki – Minami-ke)
    8. Kanae Ito (Saten – Railgun)
    9. Haruka Tomatsu (Nagi – Kannagi)
    10. Mitsuki Saiga (Mina Hazuki – DTB)

Surprisingly, Nana Mizuki is displaced by Aki Toyosaki despite her popularity… Maybe everyone just got so crazy over Yui in the latest season of K-On!!, another reason why Aki Toyosaki might be so popular might be due to her recent “confession of love” or the fact that she also voiced Uihara. Afterall Nana Mizuki haven’t really be doing any seiyu work recently… Lan Fan don’t really say much… don’t she…

My other surprise, pleasantly, Aya Hirano is number 4 on the list! I don’t know why, may be due to the Haruhi Movie and her more recent high profile acts or her work in White Album as Yuki. Hirano Aya will also be going to release her new album, Hysteric Barbie, 23th June

My Rainy Days, in Cathy SG

Just saw this trailer on gordonator’s Facebook recommendation, and finds the story rather touching. But what I have heard from ken0601 and Koemushi is quite the same… A tear-jerker… Similar to the Korean films that the housewives of Asia liked.

In other-words, this films can prove to be quite a winner with Nozomi Sasaki, a Gravure idol of rather big standards and with a almost generic Korean tear-Jerker storyline. Pulling the attention of both the Otaku/Fanboys and the Housewives/Ladies crowd. Wow…

The equation can be predicted to be a winning one.

      So what is about?

Extraordinary beautiful 17 years old high school girl Rio (Nozomi Sasaki) possesses the charisma to attract others, and she is always in the company of Miho (Araki Nanaki) and Maki (Mitsuki Oishi). At one stage she saved Tomoko (Hikaru Yamamoto) from her bully, Naoko (Saki Kagami) and later joins her group. Rio is good at manipulating her friends and makes herself in the center of attention and always ignores others due to her traumatic past. Money is the most valuable thing for her. Everything changes when she meets a history professor, Kouki Ozawa (Shosuke Tanihara) who is 35 years old and leading a lonely life. Kouki is Rio’s first love where she dares to express her love to him openly and honestly. Kouki is also interested with Rio but since he is suffering from brain tumor and is counting his final days, Rio finds it hard to accept the reality. Will Rio continues her mean and selfish ways to reject Kouki or decides to stick with Kouki until his final days?

Interested? I am, maybe I’ll catch it next Monday when I’m off.

Cathy is now screening it exclusively, and it’s now screening it at it’s The Cathy, Cineleisure, and AMKhub Cinemas, since 8th April.
