AFAMY : Cosplayer Miyuko (Spiral Cats)

The Anime Festival Asia Malaysia just announced that celebrity cosplayer, Miyuko is coming to the coming AFAMY! ((( ;°Д°))))

Miyuko is a member of the cosplayer group, Spiral Cats is based in Korea, consisting of five now, who are Tasha, Miyuko, Hyura, Ren and Tomia, where you can find their official website through here *The website is mostly in Korean, you may need google translate to help you read their updates!

Miyuko’s real name is Yun Jin Kang, a 20 years old cosplayer from South Korea, she has a smile and facial expression that allows her to bring out the essence of the characters.

Besides, she did participate in promoting the new X-box KINECT launch.

She still looks gorgeous in her non-cosplay event too.*indeed, a real Hanja!(Korean means beautiful girl)

Ozine Fest is an annual anime convention organized by the editorial committee of Otakuzine Anime Magazine, a local anime magazine published in the Philippines by PSICOM Publishing, Inc. The event features mainstream activities such as cosplay competition, exhibition booths, band tournament and art contests.

This year expect even more events and a lot more prizes. Hang out to the different Gakuensai and Matsuri Areas and after that go and try out the different dishes being served the maids and butlers of cafe while you listen to anime song sang by the different guest band performing live.

Due to the success of its first Tamashii Convention last 2011, the Nihon Kenkyuu Kai has once again hold a Japanese Pop Culture Convention, entitled “TamaMatsuri” last March 24, 2012. The word “matsuri” in the title alludes to how we envision this year’s “TamaCon” as an event similar to a festival. This year’s they aimed in allowing its participants to experience a Japanese festival, with activities and games being based on those found in actual festivals in Japan. It has been one of the big events of Nihon Kenkyuu Kai.

The Nihon Kenkyuu Kai (NKK) is the professional organization for Japanese Studies Majors of De La Salle University and students who are interested in Japan and its culture. NKK fosters mutual understanding in building bridges of friendship among Filipinos and Japanese. It is made up of a diverse group of students interested to learn more about Japanese culture, traditions, customs and its people.

The local band Evening Tea Time (ETT) playing the songs from the hit anime series that everyone K-ON. The names of the members of these group are:

This event promotes the awareness of VOCALOID to the Filipino Community. This also showcases the software, the artists and the community around VOCALOID.

A fusion of different art forms combined into one. Music, Dance, Crafts and Visual Arts. All of these in one through VOCALOID.

Activities will include:

•Cosplay Catwalk -Chosen cosplayers are to show off their Vocaloid themed costumes and will be interviewed on how their costumes came to be.

•Fan Art Contest –Digital and Traditional Vocaloid fanart contest. Works are to be pre-judged. Finalists’ works will be displayed on event.

•Video Viewing -Vocaloid PVs and Chorus Battle finalists.

•Cosplay Photography Contest –Cosplay Photographers can submit their works to be pre-judged. Theme would be VOCALOID. Finalists’ works will be displayed on event.

•Online Vocaloid Chorus Battle –International contestants may pass their chorus entries. Winner will be presented on the event.

•Vocaloid Panel –Discussion on how it works and all the technical and behind-the-scene aspects of a VOCALOID from guest speakers from Local and International Vocaloid Producers.

•Live Performances – Utaite, Band performances of different Vocaloid music and genre. (Local and International)

•Special Guest Performances - Guests from different Asian Countries.

•Uta Gassen – Vocaloid Singing Contest. Finalists will perform live on the event.

•Dance Battle – Vocaloid dance competition. Finalists will perform live on the event.

Over the weekend, 3rd of March, our correspondent from the Philippines, August, attended the 5th Philippines Cosplay Convention at The Atrium of the Robinsons Midtown Mall in Malate, Manila.

Street Fighter X TEKKEN Event @ Singapore Flyer

There was this event by Gamespot Asia and Playstation Asia, a Preview event for the upcoming game, Street Fighter X Tekken.

It took place at the Singapore Flyer not too long ago in February, I got to also meet the game’s producer, Yoshinori Ono. Thanks to Gamespot Asia for selecting me as one of the lucky few for this event.

Reaching the Flyer, 6.15pm, and it's still bright. Was expecting it to be more darker,

Registration started at 6.20pm in the evening and I had to head down to the Guests Services Lounge at the Singapore Flyer. We wrote our name for a lucky draw which would happen later on in the capsule itself.

Upon reaching there, I recieved a fun pack from Playstation Asia which contained quite few goodies( which I have not opened yet for the truth )

Here's our carriage to the Event, Wait? Event in a capsule? That's Impossible?

The whole ride was 10 mins, which you will be able to try out the preview of the game on the few PS3 consoles inside the capsule of the Singapore Flyer, and get to meet Yoshinori Ono, the game producer himself.

Everyone who attended the event got a Street Fighter x Tekken PS3 Wall Poster signed by Yoshinori Ono himself after they entered the capsule.

There was a lucky draw which I was not lucky enough to get any of the prizes, congrats to those who won the prizes on the event. After the lucky draw, we would be able to ask Yoshinori Ono some questions, or try out the game.

Just so you know, most of the people selected were males, but the group I was with had females, which did surprised Yoshinori Ono himself.

Got to try the preview of the game and it does looked a little buggy, plus the additional characters like Megaman are not added, which my assumption is that this is just the preview so they would not be placing those inside.

Apparently I lost most of the matches to the others who attended the event, admitting-ly I am not really pro. But getting a feel of this game is really good, which is a good experience on this new gameplay.

I also got to ask Yoshinori Ono questions during the time when they allowed us to take photos or ask him a few questions.

And the most common answer for “What’s your favourite food? ” has got to be Chicken Rice, and Yoshinori Ono’s favourite got to be Hainanese Chicken Rice, even thou he was only in Singapore for only 2 days. He landed in Singapore on Thursday and would have to board the plane back to Japan, after the event, on Friday.

When It was 6.30PM and the sky’s so beautiful…. Just so Beautiful….

Apperantly, 10 minutes in the capsule of the Singapore Flyer wasn’t so short, there was still time to enjoy the evening sky with the combination of the Singapore City Skyline while getting owned a few more times on the game.

I also got to take a photo with the Chun-Li cosplayer back at the event. Other than that, It was a short but very fun event.

Well, that’s all it seems!

MSIA: Animax Carnival 2012 Cosplay Competition

SG: Cosfest X.2 Day 2

On Day 2, It’s pretty much pictures only for me since I have to leave early for classes.

That means I didn’t find out who the winners for the World Cosplay Submit Singapore Leg first hand,

And they are… Raisitlin and Aya, cosplaying Mecha and Rena Rune(?) from Aquarion. They will be representing Singapore in the World Cosplay Submit in Kyoto, Japan, this coming August.

Congratulations, hope you will do us proud!

Also yesterday is our 2nd Anniversary, received some tip off that there is a Chiya there~ But I can’t find the one asking for a Cake… All I got was,

I’m still in a realm of happiness knowing that someone is actually doing fan art of Chiya~ Thanks!
