Hello everyone,it’s been a long time since i posted something.

How are you guys doing?

As you can see the title is “Figure Friday”, well i’m always doing this at my fan club, since i hope to at least post some figures on Friday. But lately I’ve been busy.

Nendoroid Petite Racing Miku Set 2011 Ver. – GSC
A new type of racing miku which includes Luka and Rin, and not to mention a cute little racing car too. It is up for pre order and i already got mine, it costs 3,800 Yen, for miku fans out there, this is a must!

Figurine Update: Before the year ends~

It’s been a while everyone XD. New year is just around the corner, yet many things have to be done. Currently, even thou I’m on vacation but with lots of works, I can’t even rest or play at all.

Recent loot of mine XD a little sneak peak of the next post I'm going to write.

Btw, it’s been a while since we talked about figure, so let’s talk some figure news! XD Before the new year comes and many other figurines got release, then I’ll never ever finish this post XD.

Saber and Saber Motored Cuirassier! XD

It’s an awesome figure of Saber with her bike from Fate/Zero which aired this fall. The show is famous! And season 1 just ended and with season 2 planned for spring. Well let’s talk more about the figure itself XD.

In Fate/Zero, Saber is known for wearing a black tight suit which is pretty cool yet have it’s own charm. This figure portraited her charm pretty damn well! So sexy! XD.

The bike is based on Yamaha’s V-MAX which is huge compared with the small posture of saber, giving you a contrasting feel when seeing them in action. The bike’s design is created by Namaniku Attakai, character designer from Nitroplus!.

Saber and Saber Motored Cuirassier’s pre-order is already opened since 22 December and to be released in May 2012 with a price of 13,800円 (including tax) so grab it fast, before it’s too late!

Nendoroid Petit Puella Magi Madoka Magica set was announced many moons ago and scheduled to be released next month.

Like always, there is a secret petit included and I’m wondering who will become the secret. It could be a side character, or another form of the characters, or even a villain? For anyone who’s wondering, I’ll give you the answer XD.

It’s Madoka’s Goddess version which appeared at the last episode of the series!

Madoka’s Goddess version is a matured version of Madoka after making a contract with QB and defeated Witches. She is rendered wearing a long dress with a long hair, so ladylike XD.

So if you are a real fan of the Madoka Magica series, this set is a must get! The Kawaii Mahou Shoujo-tachi will help make your day even better XD.

Looking at cute girls is always refreshing~ XD so I still have 2 more to go!

Nendoroid Sana Inui is also announced recently!

She is a very active girl from the Mashiroiro Symphony series. A very cute nendoroid with lovely smile and cute hands creating a heart shape, making your heart beats faster! Mashiroiro’s mascot, Pannya is also included.

She’s scheduled to be released in May 2012 like Saber with a price tag of 3500 yen. For me, I’ll be ordering her asap when my regular shop start her pre-order.

Ohana and friends from Hanasaku Iroha Beach Queens Ver. series by Wave!

Hanasaku Iroha is one of my favorite anime this year and I think it’s pretty well known too.

But I never thought that Wave would throw all the heroines at us in one short. These figures are from Beach Queens series and is scheduled to be released in July 2012 with a price tag of 3800 yen.

By looking at the prototype, I think Nako is the one that interested me the most, having the best body sculpture (I think I have a similar taste with Neko Magic’s GGT).

I do love Nako in the series so might be kinda biased actually but these girls have their own charm! So pick your own type or just snatch all of them! Afterall they are lovely girls in their ‘battle’ suit (Trust me, the Beach is a battlefield).

I think that’s all I can write today, do want to write much more. Do you find figure news interesting? Do you want us to provide figurine news regularly?

Merry Xmas Everybody! XD

Xmas is near so to share the joy, I went shopping and bought some stuffs! XD

Not really plenty but for a small set it’s quite decent i think XD

I bought a small X’mas tree to boost mood at home, it ended up pretty nice on my messy desk. I don’t have the time to clean it up recently but stuff keep piling up. Btw, The tree is around 40cm in height.

Added some Nendoroid Petit for another mood boost!

I think it’s really working! XD 1000% cuter than before!! XD

Another thing that’s famous during X’mas is Santa! but after thinking for a while, displaying a chubby old man with red fluffy suit is a bit boring.

Let’s ask the girls instead!! All you need is a Santa Hat.

While shopping I found these cute Santa hat hairpins which looked perfect for nendoroids, and snatched it away like ninja! (Of cos, i paid for it legally at the cashier).

Cut the bottom hairpin part to get a small Santa hat.

Found a cushion inside, pulled it out and that’s it! Santa hat getto~ XD.

Sadly, it’s not big enough for regular sized nendoroids but still looks cute right? XD

Now, preparing the final set.

Nikon D7000 and Sony TX1

Recently I’m interested to buy a Panasonic LX5 which is one of the best compact camera these days.

My friend is selling it cheap and it’s a no-brainer for me but the problem is, I just bought a new Nikon D7000 and still have 2009′s Sony TX1 which still in a great condition. After thinking for a while I’ve decided to test each camera with Alter Saber Summer ver., to test their capability.

Of course, D7000 won in almost all aspects except the compact size. Sony TX1 lost on paper, since the LX5 have a better lens and bigger sensor. Even though I don’t have LX5 to test but let’s just see if D7000 and TX1 can deliver good and interesting images.

Bokeh Test

D7000 Result

D7000 with 50mm f/1.8 lens - Good Bokeh and small DoF

TX1 Result

TX1 - not pretty good due small aperture size.

D7000 with 50mm f/1.8 lens have a very small Deep of Field, so the background blurred almost completely and is not distracting.

On the other hand, TX1’s small aperture limitation and 35mm focal length give it quite big Depth of Field even though the aperture is already f/4.5, though the picture is still good, the background is a little bit distracting.

LX5 have a 24mm f/2.0 which is quite a fast lens for compact camera, with faster lens, bigger sensor but wider focal length, the LX5 may be able to give us smaller DoF and better bokeh.

TX1 Result

Dynamic Angle test - Using Macro Setting and 35mm focal length give unique composition and more dynamic angle

D7000 50mm (D7000 is a DX camera (crop sensor) so the focal length is 75mm on 35mm camera) lens’s minimum focus distance is 0.45m which is quite a distances for figure (macros) photography. The D7000′s test image is cropped almost 2.0x so the result can be similar with TX1′s, with macro setting with 35mm focal length as same as in 35mm camera.

The result is, for TX1 with 35mm and 1cm minimum focus distance, it delivered a dynamic angle and unique distortion, which made the D7000’s pictures look pretty flat and it’s flat.
LX5 have a 24mm focal length with the same minimum focus distance 1cm, which is wider than TX1′s 35mm which I can’t imagine the result.

Despite all the cons, D7000 with 50mm and TX1 deliver good photos with their own strong point. I do want a macro lens for the D7000 but wide angle macro lens are rare. The only one I can find is a Sigma 28mm f/1.8 macro lens with a minimum focus distance of 0.2m (which reviewer mention can closer) and with DX camera the focal length will be 42mm, so TX1 and LX5′s macro in wide angle capability is better.

I don’t know everyone’s taste but I actually liked TX1′s angle than D7000′s. Do give me your comment so we can learn more about figure photography. All of these are based on my opinions, so do understand and if I do get something wrong somewhere, do correct and tell me. Thanks a lot XD.

Japanese Buddhist Statue Revoltech

Kaiyodo, the maker of revoltech will be releasing their art series, Buddhist Statues Series, starting with Tamonten on the 1^st of February.

This is followed by the rest of the 4 gods and Ashura.

The revoltechs are sculpted by artist Takeya Takayuki, based on the traditional depiction of the Buddhist gods. Even to the method of colouring where it tries to emulate the texture and looks of a real stone statue, commonly found in Japanese Buddhist temples.

Also staying true to the concept of Revoltech, the figures can be posed with moving parts.

The series can now be pre-ordered from Kaiyodo’s Museum Store at 3800 yen.

Looks like the collectors are growing up to appreciate real art and from the close-up pictures posted on the product site, the details are amazing.

Even thou the product measures just 130mm tall, it looks just as imposing.

Today Mikantan review the upcoming figure of Asuka Langley Shikinami by Max Factory which I missed… On closer inspection, of the pictures taken on the site, it looks good~ It just look so tight~

It’s too bad for me that I have neither the space nor resources to afford her at the moment…

She will be shipped out to stores next week so do look out for her if you didn’t pre-order like me or prepare yourself if you did. It just seems like such a happening looking figure.

I haven’t been buying Nendoroids in for some time, due to the fact that I don’t have a dimensional blender… And my place is running out of space for the box and a display area.

In fact I have still have 4 unboxed at home…

But I might really go ahead to preorder the Menma Nendoroid recently previewed on the Mikatan’s site.

She is just too cute~ Not to mention, the anime, Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai, which Menma is from is like the only anime that made me cry this year.

The story is just really good! I’m so glad I’ll be able to see some of it here in Singapore, later in AFA11.

But for the Nendoroid, looking at the preview alone is making my hands itch… Since it comes will so many accessories like the flowers and etc.

The preorder starts today at most online stores, while I will most likely get mine from KKnM, and ready to be shipped in Feb 2012.

My Figure Loot these days~

Lol, long time no see guys. Me is back after a long time ==a been busy at college and work so been doing many things which are not really interesting like working on paper, maintenance PCs and stuff.

Last Loot... not that much actually

Well because of that my figure collections are piling up. These are not one time buy loot but accumulated from July-August. Actually I’ve been wanting to write something like this, really excited now. Well let’s see what I’ve been received XD.

First is Mato&Yomi Nendoroid Petit

One of Winter Wonfes item if I remember correctly. Saw them and just fell in love with their cuteness XD. Some people want them to be released as Nendoroid but me love the petit more. Small is Cute! XD Want to bring it everyday XD

Well as you can see I’m Yomi’s fan. Not really fond of figma even though I have quite many of them but rarely photo them. Before ordered her, I ordered Matou too but no luck I don’t get it because Matou is limited ver. Well, at least I got my fav XD. Not going to open it soon. If you want maybe I’ll make a review of her. Just request it!

Nendoroid Airi

Maid Airi ready to serve you~ XD

Frankly, the reason that I snatched this cute Airi is her dress. I really wanted a Maid Uniform for Saber but Sakuya’s isn’t match my taste. The older Nendoroid which I forgot the name is rare so Airi is my best solution. Yet, when I received her, I’m begining to like her. Is it because of Twin Tails? well at least she’s cute XD.

Cirno is the Strongest! Everyone know about it XD. The Ice Fairy was arrived at my home. Can’t wait to hold her, I was unboxing her ASAP. Pretty good Nendoroid. even though I still not fond of Arm Style base which make a hole on Nendoroid’s back. Decent amount of accessories, well the crystal-like wings and sword is pretty. One of the most expensive nendoroid I ever got.

Yes, if you wondering that I bought this Magazine because of Petit Taiga. Petit Taiga is Cute! The uniform she’s wearing is from ending of the last episode of Toradora!. I’m going to remake that scene someday because currently I’m busy. Hope all the works are done so I can spend more time with Taiga.

And as I write this post my mailman come and deliver me something awesome XD

It’s Hatsune Miku Lat ver. XD Already waiting her since August yet she’s arrived late and box-damaged. Damaged Box is a common problem here in Indonesia. She’s pretty damn cute and I already unboxed her and took some photos. Thinking to make a review so If anyone want it just say it XD

Puella Magi Madoka Magica themed café Good Smile Company

Goodsmile Company and Tetsujinka Keikaku(Tetsujin) a Japanese Karaoke and Internet Cafe chain operator will be working together to open a series of 10 café, in the next 3 years.

Starting from Japan’s Akihabara on the 28th of October, followed by Taiwan in November, and then Thailand and Singapore in the near future.

The Cafe in Akihabara is Madoka themed for the opening, 500 Square Meter big, and has a Karaoke room. A new theme is expected to be used every three months or roughly a season.
