As you can see, they start the live with Tsukimonoyo, personally I feel it’s the most epic SKE song and starting the live with it it’s surely a correct choice, audiences were totally cheered up when the girls start singing.

And there’s no doubt that all the SKE songs had made time passed really fast and I’m sure that everyone there was surprised while the girls started singing 3 continuous AKB songs.

At the end of the concert, we celebrate Reika Ymada’s birthday with the SKE girls, the party was short but it was really impressive, especially when I saw all the audience suddenly took out yellow light stick and sung namida surprise.

And just for your information, the next theater performance will be AKB theater again on 27th Aug, woo~ I can’t wait for it~

Tueac: I am very sad for not being able to attend this concert since it could be the best so far… From all the reviews that i have heard and seen so far. They are powerful performers and have converted quite a lot of people to their fandom…

What a pity… I must say… For now we have not receive any official pictures from the AKB SG so this post is going to be quite a empty… And for people like me, too bad… I hope to get the pictures soon, to see for myself how it actually was.

What I do know is that, the girls got a wonderful send off from scape with fans lining up both side of the road cheering for them… Hmm this is wonderful, keep up the good work!

Here’s a video,

So how was your experiences? Do share it with us!

The most impressive part of this time’s performance must be the new ticket system which split all the hardcore fans into different portion of the theater. According to my observation it really makes the atmosphere more epic because you can hear all the hardcore fans cheering wotagei from everywhere of the theater during the concert.

Of course the member’s performance was still electrifying and I’m sure even non fans people would be attracted by the AKB special glamour.

At the end of the live, the members gave us another surprise by holding a lucky draw and the audience who was holding the lucky ticket got a member signed AKB T-shirt. Congratulations to all the lucky audience~

SHINE Youth Festival 2011 Media Conference

(Left) Mr Eric Chua, Co-chairperson of the SHINE Youth Festival 2011 Organising Committee sharing alongside Mr Martin Tan, Chairperson of the SHINE Youth Festival 2011 Steering Committee on plans ahead for SHINE Youth Festival 2011

Yesterday there was a media conference about SHINE Youth Festival 2011 held at SCAPE and we were invited.

During the conference, the chairman of SHINE committee Mr. Martin Tan and co-chairperson Mr. Eric Chua shared their ideals about SHINE Youth Festival with us, in which, is to give more chances to young people for them to get into their own festival.

Thanks to the hard work of the young committee members, this year, we will see 13 totally new activities spread into different levels of SCAPE. Some examples would be hip-hop dancing performed by dancers from Singapore, Japan and Thailand, street magic and painting. There is even a car washing fundraiser by the students of the Singapore Management University (SMU) to demonstrate their positive impact in the community.

Mascot Parade Ltd, one of the five marquee partners of SHINE Youth Festival 2011 showcasing cosplayers as a preview to Cosmo Youth Parade 2011—one of the activities under the SHINE 2011 calendar of events.

And of course, COSMO will be there as usual on 2nd July to provide a platform for youth to cosplay their favorite ACG characters. There will also be a street parade from Orchard Central to SCAPE so that cosplayers have a chance to show off their costume. Furthermore, this year, a helping hand is extended to those cosplay beginners and people who have interest in cosplaying but don’t know how to start by providing 400 cosplay costumes to try out for free. So if you are interested, you can just go and have a fun cosplaying experience.

So that is roughly what the media conference covered. Actually it is good to know that COSMO didn’t clash with this year’s Cosfest so all those cosplayers don’t need to rush for this two big cosplay events but personally I find little difference between the last and this current COSMO event except for the free costume try out section. I am hoping they will give us surprise by providing special costume to try out, such as majisuka gakuen uniforms~ XD

SHINE Youth Festival 2011: BIGGER AND BOLDER

Annual SHINE Youth Festival set to encourage 250,000 youths to “Just do”

SHINE will be back in a spectacular way come 2nd July, with a launch event featuring Singapore’s first-ever multi-decked concept party in the heart of town at *SCAPE.  Organised by the National Youth Council (NYC) as an annual youth for youth festival to celebrate and showcase youth talent, SHINE 2011 continues to be a platform for youths to indulge in their passion, demonstrate their energy and grow their skills and talents.  The launch of SHINE 2011 does just that, featuring a wide array of top-notch offerings such as a mega mascot parade, quality dance master-classes by American choreographers and community service projects, finally culminating in a night concert featuring local and regional acts.

Bigger Party and Festival Line up

2          SHINE 2011 will be launched amidst a transformed *SCAPE, which will see four levels dedicated to 13 activities, spread throughout the building.  The party radiates outwards, with a 1,000-strong mascot parade spanning *SCAPE and Orchard Road (Orchard Central), a launch concert at the Playspace @ *SCAPE, the Singapore Street Festival’s 10th Anniversary festivities and an Official Chill-out Corner by KIT KAT® for that much needed break during the mega party.

3          Youths will be treated to a star-studded show filled with successful local acts that could inspire them to follow their passions and take action as singing sensations Derrick Hoh, Tay Kewei, JuzB and Jack and Rai take the stage at the night concert.  O School, a renowned hip-hop dance school, will also provide an exclusive peek into the groovy moves at Asia’s most awaited hip-hop convention -The Big Groove 2011.

4          Showing its commitment to continuously expand the platforms and opportunities available to youths at SHINE, SHINE’s line-up this year includes those by its fifth, and newest, marquee partner, *SCAPE. “*SCAPE is happy to be the newest addition to the list of marquee partners for this year’s SHINE Festival. As a home-base to diverse youth communities of interest, *SCAPE is excited to present events that can echo the Festival’s objectives of community involvement and showcase opportunities. Two key events presented by *SCAPE include the inaugural Street *SCAPE project, which invites all youth to come forth and show the part of themselves which represents their personality and life role; and the Art Park, which is a part of *SCAPE’s efforts to expose young people to various forms of art,” said Ms Lynette Lee, Managing Director of *SCAPE Co. Ltd.

Bolder Approach and Projects

5          SHINE is also about youth development.  Mr Eric Chua, Co-Chairperson of SHINE 2011 Organising Committee, shares, “The Organising Committee has always been formed by youth leaders and representatives. This year, we were guided by highly experienced Steering Committee members hailing from youth sector organisations like the YMCA, People’s Association Youth Movement and the National Youth Achievement Award Council,” The mentorship model adopted by the Steering Committee allowed the youths access to their mentors’ network of resources and contacts, and helped them better exercise their ideas. The outcome? A bolder launch event concept, a wider array of activities and events throughout the month-long festival and, for the first time, the presentation of SHINE on a new platform. (Please refer to Annex A for a list of SHINE 2011 Steering and Organising Committee Members).

6          SHINE will be presented on a specially-designed Facebook game – power2shine. “July is the month for youths—the month for SHINE. SHINE is about encouraging youths to adopt the “Enough Talk Just do” attitude. The online platform is the preferred platform to act on amongst youths, therefore we pursued their idea of bringing SHINE to Facebook without hesitation,” said Mr Martin Tan, Chairman of SHINE 2011 Steering Committee. In power2shine, gamers have to overcome obstacles, challenges and zombies (or Tokkies) to gain the power to SHINE.

7          SHINE has also enabled youths to showcase their passion for the community. This year, students from the Singapore Management University (SMU) will take their community projects further by attempting to achieve two firsts during the Festival. In project Inspirar, SMU students will introduce the elderly to a self-defence routine-cum-workout session specially-designed for the elderly that matches their physicality and lifestyle. Another group will be setting a new Singapore record for “Most Number of Cars Washed in 6 hours” to raise funds for My Buona Vista Place.  (For more information on projects and activities by SHINE’s Marquee Partners, refer to Annex B.)

8          SHINE Youth volunteers have also upped the ante, taking it upon themselves to brainstorm ideas to raise the profile of SHINE throughout the month. They have clearly demonstrated their energy and passion, picking up a performing art just to do this. Every weekend during the festival, the advocates will put up living-statue performances along Orchard Road.

9          This is SHINE’s 7th year, and it is targeting to encourage over 250,000 youths to adopt the “Enough Talk, Just Do” attitude through a host of youth events and activities, organised for youth by youth, throughout its run from 2 to 30 July 2011.  For more information on SHINE, visit www.shine.nyc.sg.

SDN48 1st Live at AKB SG Theater!

Last Friday, Animax gave us 2 tickets to watch SDN 48′s first live outside of Japan, and in Singapore. And personally, I have not much information about the ladies in SDN48, only that they are older, more matured and a sister group of AKB48.

Before even the concert, the girls have already arrived to do some promotion of their concert, which resulted into something like a parade. The girls are to walk down Orchard Road, giving out flyers to promote their stage. And it’s not normal when you have 12 ladies walking down the street in attention seeking apparel…

They are event able to do something, some of the AKB48 girls are unable to do… Go see Merlion-san~

The concert itself turns out to be quite a successful and different experiences, compared to the AKB48 Stages, with the ladies are making jokes aimed obviously at the older crowd.

It’s start with a nice touch, showing the highlights of the 3rd Senbatsu! I’m really touched to see the reactions of the girls, be it crying, smiling or surprised. Then the show starts.

Don't be hurt... they care for the young too~

For me, when they first appear on stage, I’m thinking for some reasons, that a bunch of OLs is now dancing and singing! I looked on my right and compared them to the OLs to my right… Yes… apparently there’s quite a few of them watching the show…

By the end of the first segment, during the MC and intro part, where some of the ladies, especially Rachel(Reiko Nishikunihara), did jokes meant for the drinking table, example, Merlion!! Horrrr~*

*those who went will know what i meant~

For the sound, what really leave a deep impression with me, has got to be Rachel’s voice. Her sound is just too good~ and I’m not expecting it. Where else what disappoint me the most would be the song that comes after Rachel’s solo Yuuwaku No Garter… Perhaps all the online videos made this performance underwhelming and to add on, I didn’t even see them take it off!

Another surprise came with their new Single GaGaGa, which I thought will not be sung. Afterall I’m not really expecting 5 songs for encore.

As for the rest of the concerts, It’s refreshing and nice but the crowd and the atmosphere that I’m in made the show felt a little boring… … Once again, the Audience plays a very important part for a concert~

Sigh, I didn’t even break the light stick I had…

You can look at the set list below.

Review by Mr. Bear,

As you all know, SDN’s songs and stage style has a more mature feel compared to AKB, and to match up their style, red and purple lightings are mostly used during the whole concert. This compliments the members’ dances and makes it much more catchy and mature.

During the MC, four SDN members come on stage to talk to audiences about their impression of Singapore. Personally I found this talk section with some added funny jokes really would shorten the distance between the audience and the members, even it eats up some song time. However the reason we are there is not only for their performance but also to have a chance to know them better isn’t it?

And the last thing I want to mention is the encore. For this part I have to admit that the elder SDN sisters have done better than AKB because they put up 5 songs for the encore and it really surprised me when they started singing AKB48’s ‘Ponytail to Shushu’. Of course granted that the song sounds a bit different from the original AKB version but on the other hand SDN’s mature voice has given the song a certain special glamour. I hope to see AKB perform SDN’s Yuuwaku no Garter at their 3rd stage~ XD
