After more then 30 years since the epic journey by then Captain Okita and Kodai saved Earth from the deadly meteor bombs killing earth slowly, by traveling to a world millions of ligthyears away and back within a year in Space Battleship Yamato*. A live-action movie is announced and it’s looking really good!

Dubbed as a mega Sic-Fi movie of Japan, the production is on the way and to be debuted in December. The movie will be including A-list actors and actresses like Kimura Takuya(Susumu), Mesia Kuroki(Yuki Mori) and Ueto Aya.

There are some changes thou, for example, Yuki will be taking on a more active role, instead of just upping the morale when they return, and Dr Sado will be a female…?!!! Dr. Sado will be acted by Reiko Takashima.

Also did you know that… There is another animated movie by the name of Space Battleship Yamato: Rebirth? And it has already been screen in theaters since December last year.

It’s about 17 years after the events in “Final Farewell” and earth’s people once again have to fight to survive. With better graphic and better audio, it has gain quite a good result.

*Space Battleship Yamato is also known as Star Blazer in territories like the United States, UK and Australia.

Playstation 3 Ver3.40

Have you updated you Playstation 3 yet?

Why? Because the latest update have really added in quite a lot of goodies with an improved app for picture sharing and video editing and sharing. Even more is the new PSN Plus, paid service, it’s not really a service that I would pay for. But it does contain quite a feast for that amount of fee you pay a year.

Below is a demo using Evangelion: You Shall(Not) Advance movie trailer, made by a Japanese user demonstrating what you can do with the video editor and obviously uploaded using the PS3

It’s function includes the ability to impose text, Fast forward, slow down, remove/replace footage, and change the audio of the video which is a 1080p, 24mb file. There is a down point to it thou, the rendered file is only 480p. Now that is quite a fun thing to do, thou I do wonder how fast the rendering speed can be and what files it can support.

So I’ll try it out soon and maybe get back to you! Maybe via an uploaded video.

Updated: Black Lagoon OVA OP + Pics of Blu-ray/DVD

Whoohoo!!! The OP for Black Lagoon OVA is out. Featuring a remake of the original OP, Red Faction by MELL. Excellent visuals by MADHOUSE as usual. I just get the feeling the theme for the OP was gotten from a Clint Eastwood film. Really good stuff.

Plus some images of the Blu-ray/DVD. Once again the art for the limited ed first press(my mistake) :P is simply fantastic. Hiroe Rei is a real artist.

Nodame Cantabile – The Final Score Part II SG Release 15th July!

As Part Two begins, we find Nodame (Juri Ueno) still pining for Chiaki’s (Hiroshi Tamaki) unconditional affection as she struggles to mature and find her own place in the musical world. The couple’s quirky and farcically clumsy love affair begins to mature into a somber and serious adult love story as the final chapter unfolds. And with so much plot line riding on this final installment, the producers have pulled out all the stops with an all-star cast that includes most of the familiar fixtures of the series including: Eita, Asami Mizukawa, Keisuke Koide, Eiji Wentz, Becky, Yu Yamada, Takeshi Nadagi (The Plan 9), Seiji Fukushi, Michiko Kichise, Masato Ibu and Naoto Takenaka. The headlining star arguably remains the music itself as Nodame Cantabile Part Two offers a spectacular orchestral score, turning movie theaters into virtual concert halls. Throw in plenty of laughs, tears and emotion, and you get a spectacular climax to a growing legend that promises to settle once and for all the question of what lies ahead for Nodame and Chiaki. Will the Nodame-Chiaki concerto finally come to pass? And will their love triumph?”>

The Singapore release of the hit musical romances comedy Nodame Cantibile – The Final Score Part II is slated for 15th of July at GV theaters.

By now everyone interested, would have already know the ending, but I’m sure everyone is still keen on the movie with Ueno Juri’s uncanny depiction of Nodame and for the girls, Hiroshi Tamaki’s Chiaki…

Nodame Cantabile – The Final Score Part II in Japan can be considered a Blockbuster staying the top 10 charts for 7 consecutive weeks, earning a total of US$39,068,578.

Nodame Cantabile is created by Manga Artist Tomoko Ninomiya, and the manga ended it’s run in Kiss Magazine in 2009 October, after more then 9 years. In additional to that both the anime and life action drama have also consistently been the  most watched show in Japan.

In Singapore the movie will be distributed by Golden Village. And here’s a little preview by GV. They are calling it Nodame Cantabile – The Finale, instead of The Final Score.

Have you heard of Mockmoon?

“>

If you haven’t you are missing out on some of the most beautiful things human can capture with a camera and using the technique know as timelape. Because Mockmoon produced some of the most inspiring, beautiful and awesome looking videos on the internet.

For example a video I have used with the post featuring Danny Choo’s Culture:Japan, miniature city 2. A video made from the pictures he took of the city of Tokyo and the music by Vividblaze.

It made me realised that Japan is just so clean and orderly, to the point that I first thought this is a plastic miniature of Tokyo City, instead of the real city itself.

But still the best of his work are still for his Nature Time Lapse series of video, taken from the peak of the mountain, the side of a pond or the outside of the rest house in a forest trail. It’s not something we see everyday and not something we notice a lot due to the limited time we have to stay in the same location for that extend period of time.

His video made me realised how the environment never change or how drastic it changes, giving me the calm, my soul needs in that short wonderful minutes, especially with the beautiful music that accompanies it.

It’s so wonderful that his works have won him the Youtube Japan Video award 2009. But all these doesn’t matter for his contribution have already been rewarded by the countless souls he had sooth. Now to bring you a few of his other series.

The miniature trains.

Sunrise and Milky way rising at Kirigamine

And lastly Mockmoon’s most beautiful work, Nature Time Lapse 2
