StarFest 2010 @ Funan DigitalLife Mall

Starfest, a shopping extravaganza is now on under way at Funan Digital Life Mall from today till Sunday.

You can expect the quite a lot of things to be on sale there… We will be taking a look at the event sometime this week and then updating again. But you should not miss the coming Saturday when most of the events are happening, including the performance from the Singapore’s candidates of the World Cosplay Submit.

So again the time is from 11am to 8pm daily from today till 6th June, at Funan DigitalLife Mall.

Ugh… Funan digitallife mall is just down the street from Cityhall MRT station in Singapore…

BTW: The name of the merlion mecha is Mersinga… which mean Merlion…

HPI Open Drift Challenge @ Singapore Expo 30th May

Did you know just 3 hall away from License 2 Play, there is a Popular Fair and in there, there’s a RC Car Drifting circuit. Apparently there will be a competition later today, 30th May 2010. The cars are just awesome… too bad I don’t have the proper lens… … But here are some tries… Don’t blame me…

License 2 Play 2010 AKA Starcraft II SG Preview event!

Hmm, it’s true, the only thing that is keeping the event interesting is Blizzard’s Starcraft 2, distributed by IAH games. Other then that, the whole hall can be considered a No Event…

Well there might be a small Toy Fair right at the end of the hall, a booth by the NLB promoting their new FACEBOOK app, and kind people from MovieMania cosplaying game characters for us, but that is all that should interest us…

Even at the Blizzard Booth, you will only be disappointed by the price of the Pre-order, which include a piece of paper, a dogtag and free Starcraft II Beta-code, at a price of SG$109. It’s the normal version… Which in the US will cost you only SG$90(US$60) tops… And for 30 more you can get the very well packaged Limited Edition.

This is just Daylight robbery… $20 more for almost nothing extra… and they are expect us to join in the party on 27th July… haiz… why like dat?!

So if you really need to have Starcraft II, you might as well just order from Playasia.com, at least they are reasonable with the price at SG$92 with free delivery in Singapore. Now you pay less and have no need to go pick it up, like the rest buying from IAH…

IAH Games, you are a Disappointment… Ripping off people like that… But I did have fun playing a bit of Starcraft II at the event, even though I got owned upside down by a protoss player… He lied to me, saying that he is a noob… … even after I declaring that I’m new…

Blizzard in Singapore… LAGFREE!

If you play WOW aka World of Warcraft, DOTA and the up and coming Starcraft II, which they say will need Bnet 2.0. Hey those in the region that just graduate from a diploma/degree in Computer Network Engineering, you are in luck! Blizzard will be setting up a server in Singapore soon, the third in Asia, after South Korea and Taiwan.

They are going to need you people(The lucky ones), given Blizzard have truckloads of money and they need the Server running 24 hours, 7 days a week. That would only mean Free pizzas and more employment!

As for the rest of us, you should no longer need to lag again especially in Singapore, where the physical server are located and you are getting Openet… soon…

Pre-Order you Zerg rush now! At the License2Play fair, held at Singapore Expo Hall 6B. It’s a coup, I tell you… I was personally not really looking forward to the event but it looks like yesterday’s Straits Time kinda changed my view… …

But hey later on in the day I’ll be going over there to take a look and maybe some pictures.

Akibahara’s Streets back this July

Good news! The government will be reopening the streets of Akihabara to the weekend crowd once again! With the initiative re-starting in mid-July.

Akihabara’s Street will be open to pedestrians in July, in effect returning shopper paradise, which used to be a norm until a terrible incident that happened almost 2 years ago.

That incident lead to the death of 7 and injuring 10 others, you can find out more in an wiki… It was just shocking…

However before the incident, the streets used to be open on Sunday and public holidays for shoppers to roam, artist to perform and people to have fun in general. You will even see cosplayers roaming the street and people having fun just like in an carnival.

It’s good to see that things will be returning to normal, and the 35 year old tradition is not lost forever. In a way, it will also be honoring those who are lost in that incident.

I’m sorry about the inactivity on this site, but it’s really slow… A slow news week…

Unless you wanna find out that Anime Expo in LA, USA are getting quite a lot of attention from the Stars in Japan. Hey the event in from 1st to 4th of July and will be seeing the likes of May’n, DannyChoo, AKB48, Mell, Manga artist Rei Hiroe, Director Tomohiko Ishii and more… easily overwhelming anything we have in this part of the woods…

Not only that, they will also be getting a world premier of Black Lagoon: Return of the Maid… Uh… I mean Roberta’s Blood trail. WHY oh why do they get such wonderful stuff like this… I don’t get it.

It’s just to far away for me… So to all the American readers, have fun since it’s also your 4th of July holiday and if you really like anime,  this is one event you should not miss, if you are somewhere on the west coast…

While I’ll be looking at your envious of your event and hoping, AFA 10 will be just as interesting… …
